The Kosher Chicken Cutlet Recipe – Option 1

To try out this recipe, you will need:

Ingredients

  • 4 thin boneless skinless kosher chicken breasts
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon of water

Directions

Step #1: Preheat the oven

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 C).

Step #2: Cut your chicken

Cut each piece of kosher chicken into 3 strips and set them aside on a plate.

Step #3: Mix

In a separate bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder.

Step #4: Beat the egg

Crack the egg into another bowl and beat with the water mixed in.

Step #5: Keep mixing

In the third bowl, mix the cornstarch with kosher salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Step #5: Dip

Dredge each kosher chicken strip in the egg mixture, then in the kosher salt-cornstarch mix until fully covered. Then, finally, dip into the seasoning mixture.

Step #6: Heat the oil

Heat oil in a pan over a medium heat until hot (ensure it’s not smoking).

Step #7: Cook

Cook kosher chicken strips on both sides until golden brown and crispy; this should take around 3 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the strips.

Step #8: Prepare your baking tray

Transfer kosher chicken cutlets to a baking tray that is lightly greased or lined with foil (to help prevent sticking and aid with cleaning).

Step #9: Bake

Bake kosher chicken cutlets for 25-30 minutes. You can check how they’re cooking after 20 minutes by cutting into one of them with a sharp knife. Check the inside of the chicken stays juicy and is no longer pink.

Step #10: Remove from the oven

Once done, remove kosher chicken cutlets from the oven and set aside covered in foil to stay warm.

Step #11: Serve

After the kosher chicken is cooked, place cutlets onto a serving tray and serve with side dishes, such as potatoes or rice.

What is The Difference Between a Chicken Breast and a Chicken Cutlet?

Chicken breast and chicken cutlet are often confused with one another. Chicken breast is the entire breast of a chicken, whereas a cutlet is a thin slice cut from the breast. They have usually been pounded and are much thinner than breasts.

Breaded kosher chicken is made by coating kosher chicken with breadcrumbs or flour before frying in hot oil; often without any marinating involved.

A kosher cutlet may also be cooked in the oven with little oil or fat added, to prevent them from becoming too dry. Kosher chicken breasts often tend to become too dry after frying, as they contain less fat than kosher thighs.

As kosher chicken is so popular, here are more kosher recipes you can try at home: kosher chicken soup, kosher chicken dinner with potatoes, etc.

Crispy Oven-Baked Kosher Recipe – Option 3

This recipe will give you the best tasting results; just like the crispy kosher chicken you’ll find in your favorite restaurants.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless thin kosher cutlets
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Directions

Step #1: Cut the chicken

Cut kosher cutlets into smaller pieces – so they will cook faster and more evenly.

Step #2: Mix, coat and heat the oil

In a medium bowl, mix the kosher salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil until fully combined. Place the  kosher cutlets into the mixture until fully coated. Once coated, leave to one side while you heat oil in a pan over a medium heat.

Step #3: Cook

Add the chicken to the pan, ensuring there is enough space between them to prevent sticking. Once the kosher chicken has been added to the heated olive oil, add garlic cloves on top of the chicken pieces, before putting on the lid to slow down cooking time. Smaller thin cutlets will only need 4-5 minutes per side (depending on your stove setting), but thicker kosher cutlets may need 5-6 minutes per side.

Step #4: Enjoy!

Serve hot and enjoy.
